TV24 Desk: Country’s largest mobile financial service provider, bKash has donated 10 ventilators to Combined Military Hospital (Dhaka) to facilitate the COVID-19 treatment. This donation is a part of the continuous effort of bKash to support the government and leading hospitals with medical equipment.
Following the donation of 14 ventilators to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Dhaka Shishu Hospital and the installation of oxygen plant at Diabetic Hospital (BIHS General Hospital), bKash provided these ventilators to CMH this time. The ventilators will be used for the treatment of both serving and retired army personnel and their family members along with important citizens of the country.
Kamal Quadir, CEO of bKash handed over the ventilators to Major General Md Enayet Ullah, BSP, ndu, psc, Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army today (22 October 2020) at the Army Headquarters. Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam, ndu, psc (retd.), Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer of bKash was present at the event.
Prior to the donation of ventilators and oxygen plants, bKash handed over 50 ventilators and around 650,000 emergency health toolkits donated by Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. At the same time, bKash provided food aid to 5,000 families under the supervision of Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS). The organization also helped in the construction of Bidyanondo Foundation’s hospital. More hospitals including Central Police Hospital and government healthcare facilities are going to come under the ongoing initiative of bKash. The MFS provider has taken these initiatives for the capacity building of healthcare services as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) besides providing uninterrupted mobile financial services.
